For the first time in Zanesville- the taste of Japanese cuisine fired-up.
Renovations to the new Ichiban Japanese Steak House are complete. Manager Tian Chen is an immigrant from China. For the past 7 years he has found much success serving the Japanese cuisine in Steubenville. Wednesday he introduced the fresh flavor to Zanesville.
"It’s very, very healthy sushi – the raw fish," said Chen. "You got a lot of protein and healthy not like French fries, going to make you fat. I think sushi’s going to make you skinny."
Zanesville City Mayor Butch Zwelling-alongside a number of other Zanesville officials – joined Chen in celebrating the grand-opening. The restaurant marks Zanesville’s 32nd Ribbon-Cutting.
"I’ve been to Columbus, I’ve been to Newark, several, several times. I’ve been to the Japanese Steak house at the Las Vegas Hilton," said Zwelling. "Believe me it is wonderful, wonderful place to eat and we got one here in Zanesville."
The Ichiban Japanese Steak House located at 2542 Maple Avenue- just across from Burger King and next to Family Video.
Of Zanesville’s 32 business openings in the past two and a half years only one has closed. Mayor Zwelling believes the Ichiban Japanese Steak House will be another success.
