The McDonald’s on East Pike is back in business after three months of renovations.
The restaurant celebrated the grand re-opening with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Tuesday night. Operations Supervisor Chad Lawson said improvements include a side-by-side drive thru and modern decor. He said customers will see familiar faces at this McDonald’s.
"The biggest thing they can do is come in and take a look at their neighbors and friends working in the restaurant," said Lawson. "We were able to keep a lot of the folks that worked here before and bring a lot more people in."
Dylan Harrison eats at McDonald’s every week with his grandmother. He said he’s looking forward to the changes.
"I like that everything is new," said Harrison. "When I was out on the pavement, I was glad that there wasn’t gum on my shoes."
If you’re craving some fast food, the East Pike McDonald’s is giving away free Big Macs to the first 300 customers on Wednesday.
