A Zanesville Times Recorder carrier was shot behind her right ear Tuesday morning while she was delivering papers. Police Chief Eric Lambes says it happened at the corner of Brighton Boulevard and Dryden Road around 3:00 am. The Chief says the gun used was a small caliber and the injury is not life threatening. Lambes says officers are not sure why she was shot but the incident appeared random and is still under investigation. The victim is identifed as 53-year-old Joyce Miller — she was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital treated and released.
