A network of agencies in Muskingum County need your support in figuring out the needs of the community.
The Zanesville-Muskingum County Health Department along with several other agencies have created an 82 question survey. The questions focus on living in Muskingum County, social background, neighborhood information and healthcare.
"We’ll put that information together and then we go back to the network and show them the results," explained Community Health Planner Jody Stones. "We look at gaps and barriers, issues that come out of that survey and then that will help them design strategies to attack those issues in the community."
Seven hundred surveys must be completed within a month and a half. Stones said it’s essential to hear from residents.
"When you design a community health improvement plan as an overall community you would never want to do that with a lot of people sitting in a room. You would want to gather information from the people that live here, who work here and play here and it’s really the residents who are the focus of that plan," said Stones. "You have to get their opinion from the residents for it to be a good plan."
The Health Department is conducting the survey at their Muskingum County Fair booth Friday from 6pm-8pm. Those taking the survey in person will receive a $5.00 coupon for fresh fruits and vegetables at Pick ‘N Save. The survey can also be found on the Health Department’s website and at Whiznews.com – under station promotions.
