Two juveniles have been charged in connection with a fire that destroyed a historic schoolhouse in Perry County.

Court officials say a 16 and 17-year-old were each charged Friday with one count of arson and four counts of burglary in the May 14th fire at the Old Bristol Schoolhouse on Marietta Road.

The State Fire Marshall’s Office had been called in to investigate the fire which was later determined to have been intentionally set.

The schoolhouse was built in the 1880’s and used up until 1960 and was at one time owned by New Lexington City Schools.
