Zanesville Attracting More Tourists

More tourists are making Zanesville the place to be this summer.

Over the past few months, the y-bridge city has been featured in "The Columbus Dispatch", "Country Living" and "Ohio Magazine".  Vice President of the Zanesville-Muskingum County Chamber of Commerce Kelly Ashby said these publications have highlighted The Wilds, Conn’s potato chips and the Lorena Sternwheeler.

"When we are featured in publications like that, we certainly see an increase in requests for visitors guides and an increase in travelers to the area," said Ashby.  "It’s great marketing and promotion for Muskingum County."

"Ohio Magazine" recently honored Zanesville with the "Best Hometown in Ohio" award.  Ashby said she stays in touch with authors of these publications to update them on new attractions.

"One of the reasons that we continue to get coverage is because we do build relationships with travel writers," said Ashby.  "We continue to send them information about the area when there’s something new happening."

Ashby said she encourages tourists and locals to check out the zipline and horseback riding at The Wilds in Cumberland.
