Zanesville is the best hometown in Ohio – and it’s not just the locals that think so.
Mayor Butch Zwelling accepted the award during the opening ceremony of the Y-Bridge Arts Festival. Ohio Magazine Publisher Lute Harmon presented the plaque, and he said Zanesville outshined the larger cities in Ohio.
"We get submissions from all around the state, and we have a judging panel who goes through those, and then we do site visits to verify all the information, and Zanesville was the hands-down winner," said Harmon.
Zwelling said he’s thrilled to receive this honor and the people of Zanesville deserve to be proud.
"It confirms what most of us have known for years, that this is a great community, and now an outsider has come in, looked it over and declared us the best hometown of all," said Zwelling.
If you’re looking to explore the best hometown in Ohio, the festival will continue tomorrow morning at 10 AM.
