Zanesville Schools Start Soon

Zanesville City School students are still on summer vacation – but that’s about to change.

School starts next Monday for students in all grades except kindergarten.  Coordinator of Operations Kevin Appleman said safety is the top priority.

"Students are walking to school, students are getting on buses, students are getting off buses, so you just need to be careful," said Appleman.

Appleman said it’s important for parents to make sure their kids are prepared for the first day.  He said he encourages students to attend the back-to-school orientations.

"The teachers will be there, and they can see their classrooms," said Appleman.  "There will be a lot of information given out.  For example, the high school has a new drop-off pattern, because now we have our front parking lot."
