A Day of Caring took place across the country – including Zanesville.

The day is sponsored by United Way. Local businesses are asked to volunteer at their local food pantry. In Zanesville Merrill Lynch is the first business to take part in the "Day of Caring."

"We’re all about giving back to our communities that give back to us," said Financial Advisor Ryan Moyer. ‘We’re grateful o be here and we’re grateful o continue to be here and give back "

More than half of the Merrill Lynch staff spent time preparing meals for the homebound or serving lunch to those visiting Christ’s Table. For Financial Advisor David Weynberg the experience was eye-opening.

"We all give, a lot of us give in a lot of ways but to actually come down here first hand and see it," expressed Weynberg. "It does have a much bigger impact on everybody."

The Day of Caring is a traditional United Way volunteer event that kicks off the United Way campaign each September.
