Those traveling through Zanesville will have an opportunity to help make a difference in a child’s life.

Love’s Travel Stop and Country Store is hosting a 2-day event benefiting the Children’s Miracle Network. A yard sale of items and bake sale goods were donated by Love’s Travel employees. All proceeds will go directly towards the Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus.

"The Children’s Miracle Network I think is just one of the best organizations out there," said Love’s Travel Stops & Country Store Assistant Manager Dustin Burton. "It helps children throughout the whole country who can’t afford medical help, who really need medical help these days. With the economy the way it is there is a lot of people out there in need and this organization really helps everybody out."

The Zanesville Loves’ has been a sponsor of the Children’s Miracle Network for 12 years. Overall Love’s has raised more than $4 million for Children Hospitals around the country. Foster Parent Reta Collins knows first-hand the benefit and support of the Children’s Miracle Network. Having raised nearly 50 foster and adopted children she said she has spent more than enough time at the Children’s Hospital in Columbus.

"It means that when you go there you know you’re going to get good care," said Collins. "You know, you’re going to get good physicians and you know if you need to stay there, which we did for months at a time, that there will be a place for you. "

Love’s Travel Stop hopes to raise more than $10,000 throughout the month of September. The yard-sale will be open Saturday from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. Or you can stop in anytime to purchase a "Miracle Heart." All proceeds will go directly to Children’s Hospital.
