More than Good Deals at Goodwill Sale

More than Good Deals at Goodwill Sale

Shoppers at a Colony Square Mall store can save money and support the community at the same time.

Elder-Beerman is collecting gently used clothing and household items that will be sold at Goodwill stores.  Store manager Annie Wolfer said customers will receive a tiered discount coupon in exchange for each donation.

"With these coupons, it’s on things that aren’t normally on sale like cosmetics, fragrances, Columbia, Levi and electronics, so there are a lot of great discounts," said Wolfer.

Goodwill store manager Connie Kimble said about 60 million items have been donated at the Goodwill Sale since it began in 1994.  She said this sale has expanded across the country, and the donations help people get jobs.

"This sale helps us with our mission to provide work opportunities, skills development and employment services to people with barriers to employment," said Kimble.

Donation bins will be placed at entrances to Elder-Beerman until September 28th.  On Saturday, a Goodwill truck will be parked outside of Elder-Beerman to collect even more items.
