Ohio University-Zanesville and its partners are moving ahead with plans for a recreation center and want your input.

The University already hosted one community input meeting on the new facility and will be holding another meeting next week to hear what residents have to say. Most have already expressed a great interest in having an indoor public pool tailored to fit everyone’s needs.

"We had great questions last time. For example, people ask us if the swimming facilities would be accessible to those that have disabilities which was a great question and the answer to that is most definitely," said Assistant Dean for Development Cindy Linn.

Williams Architects based out of Chicago is heading up the design of the facility and will be in town once again for next week’s meeting.

"We had dozens and dozens of people come through the first time and they ask us questions, make suggestions, said they are excited about this, do you think there will be a room offering karate? Will you be offering ballroom dance lessons so what kind of floor do you put in?" Said Linn.

The Firm is expected to have three preliminary designs drafted for the public to see. It will be held at the Campus Center at Ohio University- Zanesville next Tuesday from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.
