Peanut Sale Supports Youth Projects

Members of Zanesville’s Kiwanis Club will be working for peanuts this weekend.

As part of the club’s annual peanut sale, members will be handing out packets of peanuts in exchange for donations.  President of Kiwanis Bob Davidson said this fundraiser has been helping children for over 20 years.

"This is how we fund things such as special riders, car seats for the Carr Center – making sure those seats fit correctly, our Christmas program provides gifts and a great party for the kids who come," said Davidson.

Davidson said his goal is to raise $10,000 from the fundraiser.  He said he enjoys giving back to the community.

"For me, it’s just being able to reach out and help make a difference in someone’s life," said Davidson.

On Friday and Saturday, volunteers will be stationed at both Pick ‘n Save locations in Zanesville, as well as the intersections of Maple Avenue and Bell Street, and Underwood Street and Zane Street.
