Do you know someone who has gone that extra mile in the southeast Ohio community? If so, the Muskingum Valley Red Cross is looking for you!

The Red Cross is accepting applications through September 15th for their 6th annual Hometown Heroes Breakfast honoring those who have been involved in many different sectors of the community.

"Education hero, senior hero, military hero, public safety hero, workplace hero, faith based hero, healthcare hero and heros to pets," said Development Director Troy Alford.

The event is open to residents across southeast Ohio including Noble and Guernsey counties which recently joined the Muskingum Valley Chapter.

"Each hero that will be chosen will get a billboard and each category has a sponsor that will be sponsoring that category and that billboard will go someplace close to where they live or work," said Alford.

Heroes will be chosen by a selection committee and honored at a breakfast at the North Terrace Church of Christ in Zanesville October 28th. For more information on how to nominate a hero, you can visit and click on upcoming events or call 452-2731.
