If you’re an education major in Muskingum County and are looking for a few extra bucks to go toward your education, there’s some good news for you.
The Muskingum County Community Foundation is offering their Olaf and Olga Hanson Scholarship Program for education majors which will be awarded in the amount of 500 dollars to two recipients.
"That could be there undergraduate, masters, or even a doctorate in education so students could apply for whichever field they are going into. Also, they must have completed their sophomore year in college so a lot of dollars. There is limited dollars available for juniors and seniors in college so this is a great opportunity," said Heather Sands with the Muskingum County Community Foundation.
Sands says even though most scholarships have a spring deadline, there are still some available for the fall depending on your major.
"A lot of students like to go on line to look for scholarships but really they can just go out their back door and receive more scholarship information locally through scholarship central here at the community foundation and with those scholarships, we do have some online resources but we encourage people to apply locally first," said Sands.
To apply for the Olaf and Hanson Scholarship, your application must be postmarked by September 30th or you can visit www.mccf.org or stop by the Community Foundation Office.
