The Trees She Loves

The Zanesville Appalachian Arts Project- more commonly known as Z.A.A.P will feature Zanesville Artist and Native Rebecca Terrible.

Growing-up in the area Terrible came to recognize and love the familiar landscape of Ohio trees.

"They’re strong and beautiful and changeable," said Terrible. "I love the trees of fall, and the spring tree. They’re permanent they are something you can depend on."

Terribles art work mainly consists of oil paintings and glass work- but always trees. Some of her featured items include this root monster and glass trees representing each season. Terrible has always had a passion for art but never pursued it until she retired.

"I was working and taking care of my children and my house," said Terrible. "I would do artistic things like cake decorating for birthdays and things, then after I stopped working I had time."

To see her work, visit Z.A.A.P Art Gallery this First Friday or anytime this month. Z.A.A.P is open Thursday through Sunday 1-5:00.
