The United Way of Muskingum, Perry. and Morgan Counties kicked off their 2011 and 2012 campaign season Tuesday evening.
Held at the Zanesville Country Club, investors and community leaders were invited to attend the event which outlined not only the organization’s goals, but it’s mission.
"Our work is a balance between providing a social services safety net and more proactive, impactful programs so that we if we’re more proactive and we attack problems at the root, then we can be less reactive and not react so much to the symptoms," said Executive Director Meg Deedrick.
Campaign Chair Chad Tom says they are looking to change things a bit this year not just in terms of incoming dollars that support the United Way, but how they can better respond to the needs of the southeast Ohio community.
"We have measurable goals we’re going to share with the community, it will be on our web site at different periods inside of our campaign and just working hard," said Tom.
Deedrick and Tom say rather than revealing a certain financial goal of this year’s campaign, they believe the actual goals set forth by the organization will help bring funds in to support the United Way.
