One person is dead and two are injured in an early afternoon crash Sunday in Guernsey County.

The Cambridge Post of the State Highway Patrol says it happened near mile marker 41 on Interstate 77.

Troopers say a Honda Civic driving southbound crossed the median hitting a Chevy Impala going northbound.

The driver of the Civic has been identified as 22-year-old Gloria Dawes of Adena, Ohio.  Dawes was pronounced dead at the scene.

The passenger of the Civic, 23-year-old Ryan Payne of Bexley, Ohio, and the driver of the Impala, 51-year-old Ronald Stemberger of Garfield Heights, Ohio, were taken to Southeast Ohio Regional Medical Center with serious injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
