An accident Monday evening in Zanesville sends a vehicle flipping over an embankment, just missing the railroad tracks below.
According to State Highway Patrol Trooper Jeff Fowler it happened at about 7 o’clock when a Jeep driven by 47 year-old Tina Tucker of Dresden failed to stop at the intersection of Military Road and Linden Avenue. 34 year-old Christopher Crook of Zanesville was driving north on Linden Avenue when he was forced to swerve, causing him to topple over the embankment landing near the tracks.
"We did contact the railroad company, it doesn’t appear it’ll be a threat," said Fowler. "They said, there are no local trains scheduled to come through the area but we did contact them."
Fowler said Tucker was cited with a failure to yield. The wet roads may be to blame.
"The roads definitely get more slick when it’s raining," explained Fowler. "According to witnesses at the scene she did slide through the intersection so I would say it’s some what of a factor."
No injuries were reported.
