It was a beautiful fall day in Coshocton… which is the exact reason behind the start of the Apple Butter Stirrin’ Festival more than 40 years ago.
The festival is a celebration of the sights, sounds and scents of the season. With more than 100 vendors filling the streets of Roscoe Village, the festival attracted quite the crowd.
"I love the people coming in, seeing the village and sharing our village with them," expressed Marketing Director at Roscoe Village Debbie McDonald.
Of course, it wouldn’t be the Apple Butter Stirrin’ Festival without apple butter. Miriam Cooper and her husband have been perfecting the old-fashion recipe for nearly 35 years.
"It’s fun because people want to know how it’s made and everything," said Cooper. "The reason it tastes so good is because it’s made with a copper kettle or a wood fire. It gets very hot, caramelizes as sugars and it’s a slow recipe and you just can’t beat it."
