The sounds of country music filled a Muskingum County barn early Sunday afternoon.

It was the 26th Annual Muskingum County Country Music Hall of Fame Day held at Roger’s Auction barn in Adamsville. The event brings out country music fans every year but it’s more than just entertainment, they raise money for charities like Lace Up for Kids, Adopt a Child, or for someone who is sick and in need of financial help.

"We’re by far from being a rich organization in funds but we are a wealthy organization in friendship and talent," said Chairman Phil Barnett.

While Barnett says they lost four members this year, being a long time member himself, he had no doubt they would keep moving on.

"We’re taking in four new regular members today and then we’re taking in an honorary member and I’m an honorary member because I never played or sang but I promoted the shows out here at the barn for all these years," said Barnett.

Barnett says they hoped to raise around 500 dollars from Sunday’s Hall of Fame Day. The organization meets every second Monday of every month.
