The Licking County Sheriff’s Office said they received at least four calls Tuesday night in regards to sightings of exotic animals. Though none on the sightings could be confirmed by law enforcement.

As a precaution the sheriff’s office has activated members of its SWAT team. The team is equipped with night vision and necessary weapons to deal with any encounters as such animals may pose an inherent threat to county residents.

Sheriff Randy Thorp encourages residents to use caution when outside and report any suspicious sightings to the Licking County Sheriff’s Office at (740) 670-5555.
