A Muskingum Township man will serve four years in prison for a stand-off earlier this year with the Sheriff’s deputies.

60-year-old John Allen received the sentence Monday in Muskingum County Common Pleas Court after a jury found him guilty of having a weapon under disability and obstructing official business.

According to Muskingum County Sheriff Matt Lutz, on April 25 deputies went to 1530 Richvale Road to serve Allen with a misdemeanor warrant. When they arrived they discovered Allen was arguing with his wife. Lutz says Allen then barricaded himself in the home. The SWAT team was brought in and Allen surrendered after two hours of negotiating.
