The Muskingum County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate an early morning home burglary.

It happened around midnight Tuesday morning at 3235 Old River Road. Sheriff Matt Lutz says three men broke into the home, tied a woman up and committed a theft. Also home at the time were three children.

"Nobody was really injured, there was a small scrape on the female but nobody that had to be treated or go to the hospital for any reason," said Lutz.

Though details are still sketchy, the sheriff is certain it wasn’t a random act.

"We feel this was a targeted home. We feel that the people that did break in knew who was living there and we think we knew what they were looking for so I just don’t want to alarm our community. We feel this was a targeted act and we’re doing everything we can right now to bring them to justice," said Lutz.

If you have any information, you are asked to call the Muskingum County Sheriff’s Office.
