Bikers Collect Toys for Kids

It’s that time of year again to begin thinking about the holiday season.

The annual collection of toys for families less fortunate will kick-off Saturday with the Motorcyclist for Kids Toy Ride. The parade of motorcyclists will begin at the Zanesville Colony Square Mall and lead to the Salvation Army.

"For us it’s really exciting because it is the kick off," said Salvation Army’s Mindy McCloy. "There are so many people that really get involved with this, I mean we will have anywhere from two to five hundred bikers here."

Biker’s For Christ has been helping organize the collection for nearly 15 years. The day will include a visit from Mr. and Mrs. Santa Clause, a public bike judging and silent auction.

"A biker in appearance may be big, burly, with whiskers, long hair but they have such a loving heart," said Biker’s for Christ Dianna Kimpel. "Everyone comes out for the children, always for the children."

All proceeds of the day will go towards the Salvation Army Angel Giving Tree.

Registration for Bikers will take place from one until three at Colony Square Mall. The parade will step off at 3:15.
