“C-Day,” Beginning of Giving Season

If you were listening to our very own Z-92 Saturday morning, you probably hear Christmas Music, it might seem a little early in the season but it was all for a good cause.

The Zanesville Jaycee’s partnered with the Salvation Army for their annual C-Day. Residents could call in to the WHIZ Studios, donate gently used items, canned goods or other non perishable items and the Jaycees would come to your door step to pick them up.

"I know Thanksgiving hasn’t come and gone yet, and we usually do it after Thanksgiving but we decided we can get people in the Christmas mood and the giving mood," said Jacyee Ben Whitacre.

The Jaycees collected items within Muskingum County but donated items will benefit families throughout Muskingum, Morgan and Perry Counties.

"There are a lot of people out there who really are in need, a lot of people who are less fortunate then us," said Whitacre. "It’s just such a great time during the Christmas season to be able to give back to those that are in need and can use things that we can no longer use."

The Salvation Army will continue to accept donated items throughout the holiday season.
