A fire causes severe smoke damage to a home in Frazeysburg.

EMS Captain Tim Clark said it happened just before 3:00 PM at 13045 West Carlisle Road.

"Frazeysburg responded, and we also received mutual aid from Dresden Fire Department and Licking Township Fire Department," said Clark.

Clark said the fire was contained in the basement before it could spread to the rest of the home.

"We got dispatched for a residential fire alarm, and when we arrived on scene, we found smoke in the residence and a small fire in the basement," said Clark.

He said the smoke damage is extensive, but the home is probably salvageable.  No one was home at the time, and the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
