The Tri-Valley High School Marching Scotties held their annual bazaar on Saturday to help support the school band.
Band Booster President Steve Starkey said this year’s band has more than 70 students, making upcoming travel for band competitions a heavy expense. He said the students help organize and put on the bazaar to help off-set the cost.
"After they recover from a late night football game they love coming in early in the morning," laughed Starkey. "But they help out setting up tables and they help vendors carry things to their cars."
In addition to the bazaar, the students will be selling Christmas trees, wreathes and other decorative items at Dresden Village Furniture beginning on Friday.
"We try and have several fundraisers throughout the year, it gets harder and harder of course to raise funds," said Director of Bands Amanda Blevins. "We try and come up with fundraisers people can work together with and an event like this instead of selling lots of individual things."
To help support the Marching Scotties, donations can be sent to Tri-Valley Band Boosters at 46 E. Muskingum Avenue in Dresden.
