A young boy is asking for help from hunters this week.
By looking at 7-year-old Eric Treadway you’d never realize anything was wrong. However, this 7-year-old has had his small bowel, liver and pancreas removed in April of 2010 and he’s currently awaiting his second multivisceral transplant. Eric’s mom said his medical condition can be taxing.
"It’s more financially more than anything," said Tabitha Treadway. "It’s difficult. We take one day at a time and see how things go."
To help the family the Licking Township Fire Department is hosting a breakfast for all those hunters and others looking for a morning meal.
"We like to reach out to the community as much as we can," said Chaplain of the Licking Township Fire Department Richard Greiner. "Even though they don’t live in our township we like to help out. We’re just not in to fight fires but to help others."
Treadway said she can’t thank the department enough.
"We tried to get help from others in the past and try and get something like this started and we’ve been unsuccessful. We’re really blessed to have these guys here to help us get this started."
The breakfast is being held at the Licking Township Fire House all this week from 4am-11:30am. The cost is $5.00 for all you can eat.
