Wednesday we spoke to Mayor Zwelling about his time in the political spotlight, but as his time as leader of the City of Zanesville winds down what does his future hold in store?
While Mayor Zwelling said he’s enjoyed his time in public office there are some things he won’t miss.
"I will not miss the politics," said Zwelling. "I will miss being Mayor. I miss being judge. I miss being a lawyer. I’m a lucky guy because I’ve enjoyed all my careers and I’m not finished yet."
The Mayor said he’ll leave office with some regrets.
"I’m working on a list of things that I regret I haven’t gotten done. I’m trying to put together some things that I’ve wanted to do for a long time as Mayor," said Zwelling. "In the last month I intend to work hard till the last day."
Mayor Zwelling said he’ll present those ideas to City Council and to the Mayor-Elect Jeff Tilton. And don’t expect him to fade from the spotlight, he has three offers with law firms both here and in Columbus, has kicked around the idea of opening a mediation service or teaching more at Ohio University Zanesville.
