The holidays are here and alcohol sales are seeing a spike.

Beverage Manager Chad Lynn at the Winerak in Zanesville said the week before and after Christmas are their busiest times of the year.

"Because of people coming home and coming in and buying things for parties and what not, these two week are definitely a huge increase in sales as far as customer flow coming through the store even," said Lynn.

Lynn said they typically see three to four  times more sales. As for party planning, Lynn suggests having a variety of choices for guests.

"A good variety is always a good thing to do, anything you can mix multiple things with such as vodkas or bourbon or tequila, and of course just a good variety of beer because everybody likes to try new things," said Lynn.

Other popular items this time of year include champagnes, wines and seasonal beers.
