Those in need were able to have fun and celebrate Christmas Friday.

Christ’s Table opened their doors at 11 a.m., serving around five-hundred to six-hundred meals. Volunteer Millie Combs dressed as Raggedy Ann for the children, and says she wanted to give someone else a nice and meaningful Christmas.

"We’re furnishing bags for all the children, and he lost his only grandson two years ago, and we thought that would be something we could say was nice for him." explained Combs.

The children also got a visit with Elmo and Santa. Executive Director Keeley Warden says days like these bring the volunteers and the guests closer together. She also said this was the first opportunity for many of the children to see Santa.

"The kids are so excited, this is the time of the year to just watch the wonder in children’s eyes, it’s been fun to watch that, but the special part for me is watching the parents be able to watch their kids laugh and have a good time this time of the year." said Warden

Because Christmas falls on a Sunday, Christ’s Table will not be open that day, but Warden says they will open their doors Saturday at 11 a.m..
