A fire damaged the fellowship building of a Zanesville church.
Zanesville Fire Chief Craig Stemm said he responded to the call just before noon at Brighton Free Methodist Church.
"There were some people in decorating this morning, but they had no problems then," said Stemm.
Stemm said no one was inside at the time of the fire. He said he’s unsure how the fire started, but the building is likely salvageable.
"There’s not a lot of interior damage from what the interior crews tell me, but there’s a lot of damage to the attic and roof," said Stemm. "It appears most of the fire was in the attic area."
The Zanesville Fire Department is investigating the cause of the fire.
