Two people were sent to the hospital following an accident on the Maysville Pike Friday afternoon.

South Zanesville Police Chief Eric Finley says it happened around 4 p.m. at the intersection of Maysville and West Main street, in front of Campbell’s Foodland. Finley says the collision occurred between a Jeep, which was turning off West Main, and a Ford Taurus, which was going straight on Maysville Pike, It’s unclear at this time who is at fault for the accident, but Finley says it’s believed that one of the two vehicles ran a red light.

Both drivers were transported to Good Samaritan hospital with non life-threatening injuries. Neither vehicle had any passengers.

Finley says there were several witnesses to the crash, which will help them to determine who will be cited.

All four lanes of the Maysville Pike were closed down for around thirty minutes while crews worked to clear the scene.
