The State Highway Patrol is looking for a man who fled the scene of an accident Friday evening.

It happened just after 8:30 P.M. on State Route 146 near Holbein road.

Trooper Eric Williams said driver Scotty Hansel was headed East on 146, when he passed two vehicles. Upon attempting to return to the eastbound lane, he lost control and drove off the left side of the road, where he struck an embankment and a tree, which caused the vehicle to overturn.

Williams said Hansel refused treatment at the scene. His passenger, who has not been identified, fled on foot. His injuries are unknown at this time. He is described as a white male with short red hair, and is believed to be wearing a black shirt with green skulls and blue jeans.

Trooper Williams said speed is likely a contributing factor in the crash, and Hansel is being cited for failure to control.
