A man from West Virginia faces felony drug charges in Ohio after getting caught with $36,000 worth of cocaine.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol said 34-year-old Earl Rivers of Wheeling, West Virginia was charged with possession of cocaine.

Troopers stopped Rivers around 1:30pm Thursday on Interstate 70 in Licking County for following too closely.

Troopers observed what they call criminal indicators and called in a patrol drug sniffing dog that led them to the cocaine.

Rivers  is being held in the Licking County Jail. If convicted he could face up to eight years in prison and a $15,000 fine.
