Salvation Army Needs Clothing Donations

The Salvation Army is helping 1,200 children have a happier Christmas.

Clothing and toys will be distributed on Friday, but the organization is asking for more donations.  Captain Diane Campbell said not all families can afford to give their kids the Christmas they deserve.

"This helps them to provide toys for Christmas that they may not be able to do for their children because their money is split or the income has been cut," said Campbell.

Campbell said the biggest need is boys’ clothing sizes 6 through 10.  Canned goods and pasta are also in demand for food baskets.  She said it’s important to remember that Christmas is all about giving to those in need.

"It’s been a success for all of the volunteers who help and everyone who supports the Angel Tree toy drive," said Campbell.  "I just want to say thank you since that’s how we’re able to do any of this."

You can drop off any new clothing items or toys to the Salvation Army before Friday.  Campbell said space is filled, but any leftover donations will be offered to families that still need help.
