Spending the Holiday at the Movies

For people who don’t celebrate Christmas, and even for those who do, a trip to the movie theatre can be a nice change of pace.

Moviegoers have a lot of films to choose from this holiday season including "Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked", "Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows" and "We Bought a Zoo".  WHIZ caught up with people in line at the Cinemark Theatre in the Colony Square Mall in Zanesville.

"Once the kids got older and didn’t have as many toys to play with, we were looking for something different to do," said Brian Founds.  "We started coming to the movies every Christmas."

"I’m a real mystery buff, so anything that involves a mystery, I’m on it," said Cathy McKown.  "And the kids won’t be there," said Willi Kulick.

"It’s been fantastic," said Carole Mayse.  "We had a wonderful day with a lot of presents from Santa and a nice breakfast.  We’re going to see the movie and then go back and have a big dinner."

Sunday’s box office statistics show that "Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol" has been the number one movie since Wednesday.
