H.S. Girls Basketball:

Tri-Valley: 35 Zanesville: 46

The Jeff Moore era at Zanesvlle has gotten off to a fast start as the Lady Devils remain perfect on the year knocking off visiting Tri-Valley. Kailee Howe once again was the high point scorer for the blue and white as she tallied 16 in the win. Tri-Valley was paced offensively by Amariah Huck who dropped 12 points on the Lady Devils defense.

Coshocton: 30 Rosecrans: 58

In their 2011 debut the Lady Bishops started five sophomores and were able to pick up where they left off last year in the district finals with a huge opening win over ECOL opponent Coshocton. Though they weren’t on early from beyond the arc, the black and red were able to run up and down the floor and convert turnovers into points to help guide them to victory. This kicks off a tough stretch for the Bishops who will play three games in four days and one of those games is against Shadyside who knocked the Lady Bishops out of the tournament a year ago.

 Crooksville: 40 Sheridan: 44

The Generals held back a strong challenge from the Ceramics at home and sealed the victory at the line, getting the 44-40 victory.  Sheridan used a 10-0 run in the first quarter to take a 12-5 lead, but Crooksville fought back, going on an 18-3 run from the end of the second quarter to midway through the third quarter to take the lead.  However, turnovers and missed free throws late did in the Ceramics.  Freshman Ashleigh Parkinson had 17 points to lead the Generals.  Taylor German continued her strong senior season with a 17 point effort in the loss.
