Wet roads may have been the cause of an injury accident Thursday evening.

According to Patrolman Kyle Brookover, a black car was rear-ended by a blue Dodge pickup truck while waiting at the light on Adair avenue and Linden road in Zanesville– both cars were eastbound.

Brookover says the rainy weather may have been a factor in the accident, but at this time they aren’t completely sure. The driver of the black vehicle was transported to Good Samaritan Hospital with minor injuries. Brookover says the driver was awake and alert.

The driver of the pickup truck will be cited with failure to keep an assured clear distance. One westbound and one eastbound lane of Adair were each closed for a short period of time while crews worked to clear the scene.
