Tri-Valley 54 Zanesville 59

A tough week for Head Coach Scott Aronhalt and the Blue Devil basketball program ends with a victory, Zanesville’s seventh in a row. Tri-Valley took a three point lead into the second quarter, trailing by one at halftime. The Blue Devils began the third quarter on an 11-1 run, and was able to hold off the Scotties (7-5, 6-3) down the stretch to preserve Zanesville’s tenth win of the season.

The five Blue Devil starters accounted for all 59 of the points, with Jake Phillis leading the way with 17 points, going 11/12 from the free throw line. Kade Haddox had 16 points, while Dar Stanford was right behind him with 15. The Blue Devils will next be on the floor in the much-anticipated matchup against the Rosecrans Bishops, this Friday Night.

Rosecrans 40 Cambridge 36

In a defensive battle, Rosecrans finally made free throws late in a game to seal a four point victory in Gene Ford Gymnasium.  It was all that much sweeter for Todd Rock’s club because of the absence of Zak Kirkbride, who was relegated to the bench for most of the game due to foul trouble.  With 3:36 to play, Kirkbride fouled out of the game with his team up only three and despite drawing as close as one, the Bobcats could not buy a bucket late, going 1/13 from the field in the fourth quarter.  Despite the limited playing time, Kirkbride led the Bishops with 12 points.  RyLee Rogers had 10 points in the loss for the Bobcats.
