Cambridge Man Sentenced in OVI Case

by Nichole Hannahs on January 5, 2012

A Cambridge man pled no contest to his fifth OVI offense in Cambridge Municipal Court.

In a press release the Ohio State Highway Patrol said that Judge John Nicholson sentenced 41-year-old Darryl Carpenter to nine months in jail and a $1,000 fine, three years probation and a five year license suspension.

While in court Carpenter apologized to the family he almost hit head-on while driving impaired with a blood alcohol level of three times the legal limit.

Dash cam footage from Carpenter’s 2011 arrest show his 2004 Chevrolet SUV as it drifts left of center and head on toward another SUV, carrying Lance Morrison, his fiancee Summer Stillion and their two month old daughter, Leighonna.
