Neighbors in one Zanesville apartment building are shaken-up after a break-in Friday evening.

Around 8 p.m., those living at 1033 Sunset Drive heard the door to Apartment # 3 get kicked-in.

"We were called to the apartment complex in reference to a loud bang that the neighbors reported. They saw three, juvenile, males running away with hooded sweatshirts on, with the hoods tightly around their faces," says Sgt. Chris Phipps with the Zanesville Police Department.

One neighbor chased the three suspects toward Findley Avenue, but they escaped.

"Motives are unknown at this time. Nobody saw any weapons on any of the three fleeing subjects, nor anything in their hands. So we have no reason to believe that they are armed right now," says Phipps.

The family who lives in the targeted apartment was not home at the time. Neighbors say they will be taking extra precautions.

Authorities are still looking for the three involved. Anyone with information can contact the Zanesville Police Department.
