Dancing Divas Fundraiser

An organization dedicated to giving women of all ages the opportunity to dance is looking for new members.

On Saturday, the Dancing Divas held an all-you-can-eat pancake fundraiser at the Applebee’s restaurant in Zanesville.  Vice President LeAnne Bader-Mock said the group pre-sold about 120 tickets for the breakfast, and all of the proceeds will support "Dancing with the Divas", an event in which local celebrities partner with the Dancing Divas to raise money for about a dozen charities.

"We have such great support of the divas in this community," said Bader-Mock.  "When we started this, who would’ve thought that women in their 30s and up would be so supported and people would watch us perform?  We’ve actually had people ask us to dance, and we weren’t really planning on dancing today, but now we may have to do a little dance just to please our audience."

Bader-Mock said the Dancing Divas are always giving back to the community.  Recently they took part in a Christmas show that provided about 300 coats to needy families.

"The big thing we’re doing right now is our membership drive," said Bader-Mock.  "It’s a new year, and everyone is thinking about health or just doing something new, so why not invest in yourself and become a diva?"
