Zanesville 58 Meadowbrook 29

The Blue Devils improve to 9-2 overall, and 7-0 in both the ECOL and on the road with a big victory over a severely overmatched Meadowbrook team. Zanesville jumped out to a 15-4 lead after one quarter, and didn’t look back. The Colts (1-9, 0-7) committed 25 turnovers in the ball game, which directly resulted in 30 Zanesville points. Jake Phillis leading the Blue Devils with 11 points, while Christian Meyers and Thomas Wibbeler both had 10 in the victory. The Blue Devils now have another week off before tangling with River View and Winland Memorial Gymnasium.

Dover 35 Rosecrans 41

The Bishops avoid a fourth straight loss with a hard-fought win over the Tornadoes. It looked like it was going to be one of those traditional Bob von Kaenel games at halftime, as Dover took a 19-10 lead to the break. The Bishops proceeding to outscore Dover in the second half 31-16 to preserve the win. Rosecrans, led by Zak Kirkbride’s 17 points, hands Dover their fourth league loss, while the Bishops improve to 7-3 overall, 5-2 in the league, one game behind Coshocton in the win column in the ECOL Grey division.

Tri-Valley 46 John Glenn 57

The scoreboard doesn’t really indicate how close this one truly was, as despite a fast start, John Glenn sealed the game late with free throws in a double digit victory.  The win keeps the Muskies unbeaten in league play and likely takes the Scotties out of contention for the MVL title.  John Glenn raced to a double digit lead and didn’t let Tri-Valley on the board until late in the first quarter, taking an 18-8 lead.  Despite the Muskies taking a 13-point halftime lead, the Scotties cut it to as little as four with under three minutes to go, but couldn’t come up with the key bucket to draw any closer.  The senior combination of Zack Atkins and Heath Dodson accounted for 18 points each in the win while Avery Williams had 22 points off the bench in the loss.
