The Zanesville Police Department is investigating an incident involving a trash bag containing materials used to make methamphetamines.

Police said a man found the trash bag just before 8 a.m. on Sunday in the road outside of his home on Blue Avenue.

Plastic bottles, empty Sudafed wrappers and a can of starting fluid were among the items inside the bag.

Officers closed Blue Avenue between Taylor and Somers Streets as safety personnel inspected the area.

Police are still trying to determine where the bag came from.
