Photography in Art Walk Spotlight

Zanesville photographers are sharing their talent with the community at this Friday’s downtown art walk.

Members of the Y-bridge Photo Club are the Artist Colony of Zanesville artists of the month.  Crystal Fuller said the club schedules field trips all over Ohio to explore new inspirations for photographs.

"There are a lot of people interested in photography, and it helps foster learning within the community," said Fuller.  "We have a lot of young people that are quite good, and it gets their names known."

She said the artists exchange ideas and encourage each other to accomplish goals.  Fuller’s passion is painting, but photography helps her grow as a painter.

"I go with a point-and-shoot camera and take reference pictures to paint from and to learn from the photographers," said Fuller.  "We have professional photographers that are part of the group, and you can learn so much just by going with them and taking pictures.  I can take a picture of the same thing, and it doesn’t look anything at all like the same subject.  I learn a great deal from them."

The photographs are on display at the Zanesville Appalachian Arts Project gallery on Main Street.  The art walk is on Friday from 5 to 8 PM, and if you’re unable to attend, you can purchase a Z.A.A.P calendar to benefit the non-profit organization.
