With gas prices jumping once again, motorist are certainly feeling the pain at the pump.

The average price for regular in Ohio is now up to $3.73 a gallon; about 35 cents more than this time last year.

AAA is offering easy, fuel saving tips to cut back on the amount of fuel you use.

Spokeswoman Kimberly Schwind said regular maintenance on your vehicle is crucial.

"Probably one of the most important things you can do is really just to keep up on regular maintenance. Make sure your tires have adequate pressure, make sure you’re getting your oil changes, and make sure you change your air filter, these can all help," said Schwind.

AAA also suggest taking any un-needed items out of your trunk, plan errands in advance, and most importantly, according to Schwind, drive gently and slow down.

"When you’re driving, imagine that you have an egg underneath the gas pedal and the brake pedal, and you don’t want to break that egg. So you don’t want to slam on the brakes, and you Don’t want to slam on the gas, and that’s really going to help you be more fuel-efficient," added Schwind.

AAA has an application for Android and iPhone users where motorists can find the cheapest gas prices and map the shortest route to their destination.
