Armed Robbery At Tumbleweeds-Papa John’s Connected?

Zanesville Police are investigating an armed robbery that may be connection to the armed robbery at Papa John’s Pizza last Thursday. Investigators say it happened Sunday just before 11 p.m. at the Tumbleweeds at 746 Monroe Street. Officers say the bandit confronted a store employee at a back door, pulled out a gun and demanded the restaurant’s money.  Police say he threatened employees. He is described as a heavy set white male about 5’9" to 5’10". He was wearing a black hoodie sweatshirt and black ski mask.  He fled on foot toward the Comfort Inn. No one was injured. Police say anyone with information on either of the robberies is asked to call Z-P-D at 740 455-0700 and ask to speak with Detective Phil Michel or Detective Jeff Madden.
