Cub Scouts Bake Sweets for Funds

Area cub scouts are baking sweet treats to raise money…

Pack 121 held its annual Father-Son Cake Auction Sunday afternoon. Pack Chairman Dan Riley said the auction is a fun way to get the community involved.

"We have 29 cub scouts who all make cakes, and then we also talk to the business community of Dresden and the surrounding area, and a lot of the business representatives come in and bid on cakes, to help support our organization," said Riley.

All of the cakes were judged for titles like "Most Colorful" and "Most Original". Riley said that when it comes to creativity, the scouts had free reign.

"It’s all up to the kids, the sky’s the limit on them. We get some cool one’s every year… This is the 23rd year we’ve done this event, and it’s gotten a little bigger every year, and the kids have a good time and we have a good time doing it. Hopefully the public does, too," said Riley.

All proceeds will help send members of Pack 121 to Cub Scout Day Camp this summer.
